TimeFluxTM

TimeFlux technology is revolutionary in its approach to the current home networking challenge in several important ways. It works on any wire type, including telephone twisted pair (TTP), coaxial cable, and power line at substantially greater speeds than any other networking technology commonly in use today. In addition, TimeFlux technology also guarantees the bandwidth and provides consistent latency as needed for every device on the network. This means that several High Definition Television (HDTV) and Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) streams can peacefully coexist with hundreds of other Internet devices including computers, gaming, security, energy management, home automation, and many more. This performance can be achieved with the wires existing in the home today, thus greatly reducing the cost of installation and easing the management burdens for new digital service offerings.

Before designing TimeFlux, we started with a simple question in mind – What are the required attributes of the ideal home networking technology?

Low Power – High transmission power causes interference with other services, requires increased chipset power consumption and increases material costs for thermal management components. Governmental organizations, starting with the EU, are beginning to regulate power consumption for every device in the home including network appliances.

Wired Beats Wireless – For reliability, security and throughput, wired is preferred over wireless. The in-home RF spectrum is crowded and noisy and will only get more so in the coming years.

Enormous Bandwidth – The home network must support throughput of at least 250 Mbps and have headroom for future growth. There should be enough bandwidth to support all applications, not a minimal amount that needs to be shared through complicated Quality of Service (QoS) techniques. Bandwidth needs will substantially increase with improving HDTV resolutions and with the deployment of additional IPTV features such as Multi-Angle sports and 3D video on demand.

Exploit Existing Wires – Rewiring homes is costly and is unappealing to home and building owners. There is plenty of wire already in every building.  It just needs to be made available. Any wire type should be capable of a connection.

Reliable Delivery of Everything – Every application must have the bandwidth it requires with consistent latency and jitter, without packet loss, up to wire-line capacity. Low Quality of Experience (QoE) is not an option that will be tolerated by consumers.

Fundamentally, TimeFlux technology is Ethernet, capitalizing on its strengths but remedying many of its shortcomings. TimeFlux technology facilitates the use of any wire instead of the strict requirement of category 5 twisted pair, implements a Guarantee of Service (GoS) to augment Quality of Service (QoS), and, perhaps most importantly, alleviates the need to rewire countless homes both in the United States and across the globe in order to achieve these objectives.

Today’s homes have plenty of available wiring.  Unfortunately, most of this wiring is unable to meet the needs of waves-based networking technologies. Over 60% of the homes in North America and Europe were built prior to the advent of “modern” wiring. Rewiring homes to correct this problem is costly and, with TimeFlux technology, is now unnecessary. TimeFlux technology is able to use existing wiring in the home such as TTP, coaxial cable, and power lines for digital service offerings including HD TV and IPTV.

TimeFlux is a revolutionary technology that brings high performance networking to existing wires. TimeFlux alleviates the need to rewire buildings and dramatically reduces operational expenses as Service Providers rollout advanced IP solutions, including: IPTV, VOD, femtocells, gaming and many, many other possibilities. TimeFlux augments QoS with GoS to deliver low jitter and consistent latency that are required to satisfy consumer’s QoE (quality of experience) expectations for voice and video. TimeFlux is here today and ready to be deployed to meet the any-wire networking challenge.
